Tikondane Care for Children on/off the Streets (TCCS) is a faith based organization which was started in 1998 by the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (MSOLA) in collaboration with the Catholic Diocese of Lilongwe (now Archdiocese). TCCS has always had a holistic approach in offering ‘hands-on’ care and protection to children at risk. TCCS sustains a philosophy of placing the child at the center of all activities. Our main objective is “to support children at risk to develop to their full potential, by enabling them to return to safe and loving environments, and lead a dignified life”. Our foremost target group remains the children who are new to street life; however we also work with ‘old timers’. All these children come to TCCS with a sure hope of finding safety and assistance.

WHAT WE STAND FOR
Our drive is the Gospel of Life which promotes human dignity. This also inspires us to always work for the best interest of the little ones. We invest all our strengths and energies to promote children’s rights, combat all forms of abuse, rejection and marginalization.

VISION
A just, loving and caring society in which all people are fully involved in the care and protection of all children and young people, thus promoting their development to their full potential as persons created in the image of God.

MISSION
To give holistic care, to protect and empower vulnerable, marginalized children, to facilitate their re-integration in their families and school systems, and to advocate for their case in fostering a spirit of justice, healing and reconciliation.

OBJECTIVES
– To identify and protecting children frequenting Lilongwe’s streets.
– To offer alternatives to street life.
– To enhance public knowledge and attitudes on problems children face.
– To reach a synergy in the best interest of vulnerable children by networking with relevant partners.
